SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SOCIAL EXCLUSION IN RURAL AREAS IN POLAND

The article discusses the problem of social exclusion in rural areas in Poland as well as the
use of social entrepreneurship to limit it. The purposes of this paper is to present theoretical aspects of
social and economic exclusion (especially in the countryside) as well as social entrepreneurship.
In addition, the study discusses the socio-economic situation in rural areas of West
Pomerania and social cooperatives operating there. The article also presents the conditions for their
creation and an example of such an enterprise in the Choszczno powiat. While working on the
research problem, national and foreign literature as well as public statistics data were used. Among
the applied research methods are: literature study, comparative analysis and descriptive method.
