COMPLIANCE WITH I4OC STANDARD
The I4OC open citation project was launched in 2017, which builds on collaboration between scientific periodical publishers, scientists and readers to provide access to the latest research information and citation data for articles posted in the open access. The I4OC standard is mandatory for publications indexed in Scopus and Web of Science and is part of the generally accepted concept of open access of scientific research results for journals that disseminate scientific research under full open access rights.
The WSES Scientific Studies in Ostroleka is constantly expanding the list of scientific citation bases and strives to establish cooperation with well-known scientometric bases – Scopus and Web of Science, in order to improve the quality of publications and increase the rating of authors. The main purpose of the I4OC standard is to create structured, segregated and open citations. Structuring makes it possible to express the data about each publication in machine-readable formats and provide programmatic access to them. Separation of citations gives access to each individual publication without reference to the edition where it is published. The openness of citations facilitates the discovery and citation of articles in the public access.
The WSES Scientific Studies in Ostroleka supports the I4OC standard and transfers structured data about publications to the Crossref service as part of the Crossref’s Cited-by service. This approach allows us to process data and synchronize it with libraries and citation databases, effectively trace publication links and analyze the scientometric rating of researchers who are our authors.
The participation of The WSES Scientific Studies in Ostroleka in the I4OC initiative allows our authors to post their articles in the public access for optimal search, reading, use and citation of publications. The publication can create new services based on open citation data for publishers, academic institutions, organizations and readers.
