CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FUNCTIONING OF FARMS LOCATED IN NATURA 2000 AREA ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE SPA”VALLEY OMULEW AND PŁODOWNICA”

The survey about functioning of farms in Natura 2000, were conducted in municipality Baranowo (Special Protection Area „Valley Omulew and Płodownica”). The study included 68 owners of agricultural in the area. The basic research tool was a questionnaire with direct interview. Obtained results show, that the rural population (mainly farmers) do not have knowledge of the Natura 2000 network. The main reasons were: the protected areas haven’t impact on the farms so far. Also, owners of farms were little interested in environmental protection. Moreover, the institutions managing Natura 2000 network didn’t carry out information activities about Natura 2000.
