COMMUNITY INITIATIVES (CI) AS A “DRIVING WHEEL” FOR PROBLEM REGIONS IN EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

This paper presents the Community Initiatives realized within EU structural aid in the period 2000 – 2006. The analysis comprise also the past and the future for the Community Initiatives, which have been incorporated since 2007 to the objectives of the EU regional policy and objectives of the Common Agricultural Policy. Thank to it the role of the Community Initiatives as a support for the poorest regions in Member countries facing the development problems has been increased.
