The European External Action Service (EEAS) has its origins in the Treaty of Lisbon. It is an European diplomacy governed by High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Its purpose is executing the Common Foreign and Security Policy in relation to third countries, supporting diplomacies 27 EU member states and the European Commission (EC). The purpose of the EEAS is to present the position of the EU as a whole, rather than the positions of individual Member States. Author specifically indicates legal basis establishment of the EEAS, the main tasks, the structure and organization of the EEAS, the role played by Poland in the creation of the European External Action Service, as well as the participation of Poles in the institution. Furthermore author is trying to point out that this institution will play an effective role in EU foreign policy, whether it will be just another unnecessary political instrument.
