One of the key items of modern social economy is integration of excluded groups as well as forms of support and consolidation of this sector. The paper under presentation discusses synthetically some questions, viz. a comparison made between old and modern social economy, discerning a chance for social economy entities, in particular, in social cooperatives due to
appropriate legal provisions regarding social clauses and through establishing social economy clusters which not only may contribute to the development of the third sector but also to improve social awareness in this field, since both those forms combine social and economic objectives.
