Abstract

The work presents the results of a study concerning the identification and classification of requirements set by students for their potential employers. The research was conducted with the use of the Kano model on a group of 182 students of Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science in the Gdynia Maritime University. The results of the study lead to a conclusion that the priority in terms of improving the work environment offered by the company should be the fulfillment of all requirements set by the labor law as well as the provision of access to basic work tools for the employees. While selecting employers, of much significance to the respondents were also financial aspects of a given job, as well as the atmosphere and internal communication at work. In the opinion of the students, the attractiveness of an employer is determined mainly by access to additional work tools, the benefits package, and flexible work hours; on the other hand, the least significant criterion while choosing an employer is the process of evaluating the employees’ achievements and results applied by a given company.
