The studies conducted by the author indicate the significance of location for the growth of development activity. Foreign literature also emphasises the impact of this factor on the possibility of the growth of development activity. Location is often understood as the position of the real property in the given city. This paper deals with the issue of the “external” location, i.e. the developers' choice concerning the location of their undertakings in particular cities. Each city has its own characteristics and defined specificity which can encourage or discourage developers to undertake an activity in this particular city. In this context, the goal of the paper is an attempt to define the best and the worst location among Polish province capitals for development activity using taxonomic methods.
