Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the changes in fruit market in the years 2010 and 2015. The analysis was based on data collected in the statistical publications of the Central Statistical Office of Poland, reports provided by the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economy - National Research Institute, as well as other bibliographic items. It should be noted that, in the study period, there was a decrease in the fruit cultivation branch, which did not result with a drop in the harvest, but an increase. In the fruit harvest dominate apples, cherries, plums, strawberries, raspberries and currants. There was also a significant increase in the harvest of blueberries. It can be seen that there is a growing tendency among Polish people for the consumption of fruits and fruit products, especially processed products and juices. Important is the fact that the fruit harvest in particular years depends heavily on the atmospheric conditions.
