Sustainable development in air transport is a very important and constantly relevant issue. It concerns, among others, aviation noise protection, rain water and waste management and the reduction of fugitive emissions into the air. In order to help the airports in the choice of appropriate actions to support sustainable development, it is worthwhile to forecast passenger traffic. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to forecast the number of passengers and the number of PAX operations at Gdansk Airport, using the seasonality and harmonic analysis method. The forecasts obtained can be very helpful especially in the process of creating a restricted use area.
