The main purpose of the article is to present the current legal status of the protection of geographical indications that serve to determine the origin of products. The author of the paper will present the essentials based on the subject matter related to the organizational and legal conditions of protection of geographical indications used to determine the origin of products. Protecting geographical indications allows you to use a product that has certain characteristics of origin and geographical conditions. This allows buyers of such products to receive unique merchandise. However, such a state is disturbed by the unfair anti-competitive behavior of other entrepreneurs. These are manifestations of various forms of infringement, causing a great deal of loss for those who produce them and sell them. It is therefore important for the State to have an important role in ensuring the safeguarding of geographical indications as it has the appropriate organizational and legal capacity to prevent and prevent such situations.
