The main purpose of the publication is to examine the impact of geographic proximity and relational competitors of industrial enterprises on innovation activity. The analysis included the Wielkopolska Region, the years 2014-2016. Probability calculus - modeling probit variables was used for the study. Research results indicate that the further the competitors' distance to each other is, the greater the likelihood of innovative activities. The research referring to the relationship with a competitor showed a low probability of the occurrence of innovative activity while maintaining close contacts with competitors. Even if competitors maintain contact with each other (close or far) does not affect the cooperation in the framework of innovative activity.
