SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF VOIVODSHIPS IN POLAND

Abstract

The main aim of the study was to present the elements of sustainable development and to define the areas in which the reduction and increase of the disproportions between the voivodships takes place. The sources of materials were domestic and foreign literature, statistical data of the CSO. The research covered the period 2005-2015. The descriptive, graphical and tabular methods, dynamics indexes, Pearson correlation coefficients were used to analyze and present the collected material. In the research it was stated that voivodships were still very differentiated. The equalization of differences was only in the aspect of economic and environmental activity. In other areas of sustainable development the differences have deepened. Policy makers should choose more effective instruments to better equalize disparities between regions.
