Abstract

The article presents the current state of challenges that the European Union faces in the field of climate and energy policy for sustainable development. As part of the triad of goals, the implementation of ensuring the security of supply and competitiveness of the EU countries was shown while maintaining the absence of negative climate change. The aim of the article is to evaluate contemporary activities in the field of energy and climate and forecast possible development prospects depending on the implementation of the most likely international initiatives in this field.
