Each state has the responsibility to meet the housing needs of citizens, in line with preferencesand economic opportunities. The assessment of the effectiveness of government instruments for supporting housing is not based solely on the analysis of the amount of financial resources allocated, but also on their effectiveness (in the number of housing investments, the level of maintaining existing resources) and economic and social purposefulness. The article analyzes the impact of the state's housing policy on the demand for housing loans in Poland. Presented are the results of the implementation of the most popular real estate loan support program on the market, i.e. the "Mieszaknie dla Młodych" Program. From 2015, it was the most popular program among young Poles, up to 35 years of age. The implementation of the program influenced the prices on the housing market. In some Polish cities, the "MdM" program contributed to the reduction of home prices on the market.
