INNOVATION IN A LOCAL TOURISM MARKET – THEORY AND PERSONAL STUDY

The objective of this article is a restricted study of the relationship between accepted innovations in tourism and the promotion of a product in a specific tourist area. This entails first, introduces said innovation, and second, traditional qualities and tourist attractions. Contemporary innovation is an important economic element and a stimulating factor for economic development. Tourism as such, is an area of socio-economic life whose foundation is natural features translating into tourist attractions.
The article analyzes selected aspects associated with the selected topic:
- the concept of innovation,
- legality of innovation in tourism, and
- assessment of innovative activity in a selected case study.
The study employs the study of legal doctrine and empirical research i.e. diagnostic survey and questionnaire techniques.
The locale studied is the Pokój Commune in the Opole Voivodship which is endeavoring to gain health resort status, and which undoubtedly has many natural qualities.
