The article presents selected results regarding the operation and functioning of Ecoports in Szczecin. The analysis was based on data obtained from the Municipal Services Office in Szczecin (ZUK). From year to year, awareness of residents and regular use of existing Selective Municipal Waste Collection Points is growing.
In recent years, over 366 thousand inhabitants visited Ecoports. Most often, the inhabitants of Szczecin hand over construction and demolition waste to the Ecoports, as well as the overall size of waste, used electronic and electrical equipment. The next part of the publication presents the most important legal regulations regarding waste management rules in Poland. These regulations oblige municipalities to maintain cleanliness and order in the commune and create separate collection points for municipal waste.
