Abstract

The aim of the study was to illustrate the idea of the LEADER / CLLD approach implemented under RDP 2014-2020 in Poland, with particular emphasis on local action groups operating in the Lower Silesia Voivodship. The study takes into account the role of local community-led local development in the implementation of the LEADER initiative. The source of data for analysis was available literature on the subject of research, national and international law acts and resolutions of the board of the Lower Silesia Voivodship, the National Network of Rural Areas and local action groups. The amounts allocated to a particular partnership give great opportunities for social initiatives. The impact of local action groups covers large areas and affects many people in rural areas. There is a problem in the area of shaping the structure of local partnerships. The sectoral structure of local action groups should be dominated by the social sector supplemented by the inhabitants.
