The article focuses on selected psychosocial aspects of homelessness - related to socio-economic development. Homelessness is a social problem of an extreme, and the consequences – pathological. This social phenomenon of a global nature requires effective programs out of homelessness. They should be designed to help the unit in awareness of their own powerlessness and lack of skills, understanding the need to ask for help, winning trust and confidence, experience a sense of security resulting from their own actions and restoring hope. A good example of integrated actions aimed at improving the situation of homeless people is the Communal Standards Model for Homelessness.
