R & D ACTIVITY IN POLAND AND SUPPORTING PROGRAMS

The aim of the article was to present the amount of expenditures on R & D activity in Poland in 2008-2015. The article begins with the presentation of concepts related to research and development. The next part presents data on gross expenditure on R & D in 2007-2017 in Poland, Germany, Sweden, Malta, Japan and the United States. Then, data on internal inputs for R & D in 2008-2015 were presented. Moreover, the article presents programs that have an impact on R & D. The last part of the article contains a summary and conclusions. Analysis of data as well as programs supporting R & D showed that in Poland this sphere is developing at a slow pace in contrast to Western neighbors.
